This collection of photographs will complete the 'before and after' pictures of the construction of the rail link due for opening at the end of 2010, much work remains on the stations,bridges, electrics, track and the trains, but all reports maintain the project is on time and on budget.
However, there is an ongoing discussion with the unions re- 'who operates the doors', we can only hope this is settled amicably and does not impede the re-opening timetable.

The Steam Locomotive used in the Harry Potter films, No.4972, Hogwarts Castle/Express, travelled from Carnforth to Fort William on 16th September 2009 for more filming duties, and some pictures of the northern part of the journey are shown in this collection, and hopefully any more obtained later.

Unforgettable air show at Leuchars with glorious weather and the display to include the Vulcan B2, prevented from flying last year due to poor visibilty, the Red Arrows also on show with an amazing display of precision, hopefully shown on some of my pictures.
The new Typhoon to take over the Tornado duties, also in the line up and what was described as the last 'Battle of Britain' show(at Leuchars) by the Lancaster Bomber, accompanied by the Hurricane and Spitfire.

The SRPS have put on an excellent gala event for Fathers Day, with a variety of Steam and Diesel hauled trains, with the CR and Teak coach sets out for the occasion and making a special atmosphere.
A lot of pre-planning and organising on the day
with plenty of shunting action to ensure the 50 minute service kept to time.
Congratulations to the SRPS for running this event.

My first visit to a Diesel Gala on the CR Railway
and did not disappoint, with a frequent service
and good weather I enjoyed the day.
I trust you will find the photographs appealing and consider a trip to Brechin a 'must do' this year.

The 'Mentor' test train is always popular and provides some heritage traction engines, this time DRS's class 37's, 36612 and 37069 worked the lines around Glasgow and the west coast.
